SOLVING THE HARMONIC AND ANHARMONIC OSCILLATORS WITH MATRIX METHOD

Abstract
  • Attempts have been made to investigate a simple technique for solving the Schrödinger equation. This involved Matrix formulation of time independent Schrödinger equation, matrix representation of position and momentum operators, harmonic oscillators and anharmonic oscillators. Then, the numerically exact Eigen values (i.e. the possible results of a measurement of energy) and Eigen vectors for models have been investigated through matrix method and relevant numerical simulations have been implemented using Mathematica coding.
