THE ETHICAL ROLE OF PEACE IN MYANMAR SOCIETY

Abstract
  • This paper is to examine the crucial role of peace within Myanmar society. It addresses the question: "Why ethical norms are essential for establishing a peaceful society?" The research highlights that Myanmar currently faces numerous challenges, including terrorism, human rights violations, economic inequality, religious intolerance, social injustice, and oppression of vulnerable groups. To foster peace, it is imperative for citizens to uphold and practice ethical principles such as justice, unity, mutual trust, non-violence, duty, responsibility, and equality. The study employs descriptive and evaluative methods to achieve its objectives, offering insights into the concept of peace and practical approaches for its implementation in Myanmar society.
