Abstract
  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of environmental knowledge, and socio demographic factors on pro-environmental behavior in Mandalay, Myanmar. This study examined the effects of environmental knowledge and socio-demographic factors on pro-environmental behavior by surveying a sample of 280 (162 women and 118 men) respondents from Chanayetharzan, Chanmyatharsi, Aungmyaetharzan and Mahaaungmyae in Mandalay. As hypothesized, women’s engaging in private environmental behaviors was even significantly higher than that of men. Results indicated that older respondents engaged slightly more in public environmental behaviors but less in private environmental behavior. Moreover, environmental knowledge was significantly correlated with pro-environmental behavioral.
